Beaver Falls Water Pollution Control Plant
Sealed proposals for Design and Construction of a Storage Building for the Beaver Falls
Water Pollution Control Plant (50’-0” X 70’-0”) shall be received by the City of Beaver Falls
at 715 Fifteenth Street, Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, 15010 until 4:00 PM prevailing time on
March 4, 2010. The bid encompasses furnishing labor, materials, and project
management to perform all work set forth in the advertisement, general conditions,
drawings, and specifications.
The project involves detailed design of the new building, approval of the drawings by
the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, and providing the material and labor
for the construction of the new building. It also includes running a new overhead
electrical feed service line to the neighboring Digester Control Building from a Duquesne
Light pole and disconnecting/abandoning its current underground feed line.
Plans, specifications, and contract documents may be obtained at the office of
Widmer Engineering Inc., 806 Lincoln Place, Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania 15010, (724) 847-
1696 with a non refundable deposit of $35.00. All bidders requesting specifications to be
mailed shall pay a handling fee of $10.00. All mail requests shall be paid in advance.
Each proposal shall be accompanied by either a certified check or Surety Company
bid bond in the amount of not less than ten (10%) of the contract amount. The same
shall be made payable unto the City of Beaver Falls.
The City will publicly open the bids at 4:00 P.M. on the date of the bid closing.
After review and tabulation, the Beaver Falls City Council will consider the bids at its
regular meeting at 7:00 P.M. on March 9, 2010.
The City will review each bid proposed for responsiveness to the specifications.
Upon verification that the proposal fulfills the requirements of the specification, the City
will enter into negotiations with the responsive low bidder for working out any details for
final design and entering into a contract.
Upon successful award of the contract, a 100% performance, 100% payment and
100% maintenance bond shall be required. No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of
sixty (60) days after the time set for the opening of bids.
The City reserves the right to reject any part of or all proposals, or to waive any
irregularity in a proposal, when the City deems such action advantageous to the City.
Bids, whether mailed or delivered in person, shall be sealed, marked "Water
Pollution Control Plant Storage Building Project" and addressed to City of Beaver Falls, 715
Fifteenth Street, Beaver Falls, PA 15010.
