Nashua Bridge
The project involved the realignment and replacement of the structure located along
(T-593) Nashua Road and crosses over the Shenango River.  The new structure is a single
span steel plate girder bridge with a minimum roadway width of 26.0 feet and a span
length of 140.0 feet. The roadway replacement project was approximately 861 feet in length.
Brush Creek Park
This bid package was prepared for Beaver County as a design build bid package.
Climax Road Bridge
The project involved the replacement of the existing bridge carrying T-970 (Climax
Road) over Redbank Creek located in Mahoning Township, Armstrong County and
Porter Township, Clarion County, Pennsylvania.  The existing riveted steel through
truss bridge was replaced with a two span steel I-beam bridge.  T-970 is classified as
a Rural Local Roadway; therefore, Rural Local Road criteria were used to establish the
design elements for the bridge replacement and approach roadway reconstruction.
S.R. 422 SAMI
WEI completed a SAMI project on S.R. 0422, Section 391 for PennDOT District 10-0.
This project included an Interstate 79 Interchange improvement, pavement widening and
roadway design, left-turn lanes, channelization, shoulder widening, concrete median
barriers, a Gabion retaining wall for S.R. 0422 at I-79 structure, slope stability, guide rail,
and construction consultation.
S.R. 1043 Pandora Bridge
WEI completed the S.R. 1043, Pandora Bridge project in Westmoreland County for
PennDOT District 12-0.  This project included an elimination of a S curve in the existing
alignment, vertical and horizontal clearance required by two railroad tracks under the
bridge, tie-in to three township roads, utility relocation and coordination with the PUC,
extensive public involvement/public meetings, and Environmental & Historic clearances
because it was a historic structure.
Oldtown Street Bridge
WEI has completed bridge inspections on this Greene County Bridge #11 on Oldtown
Street over Muddy Creek, in 1997, 1999, and 2001.  This bridge consists of stone
abutments, a timber truss system with a wood plank deck and sides and a metal roof.  A
concrete curtain wall has been constructed at the base of the far abutment.  The clear
span is 58’-6” face-to-face of abutment and the transverse width is 12’-0” from curb-to-
curb.  The vertical clearance is 8’-8” due to timber knee braces at the openings at both
ends of the bridge.
Walmart S.R. 0006N
WEI designed an entrance for a proposed Walmart along S.R. 0006N in District 1-0.  The
project included traffic impact studies, traffic signal plans, traffic control plans, pavement
markings, construction plans and right and left turns along S.R. 0006N.
North Branch Bridge
The North Branch Bridge was constructed just south of the existing bridge located on SR
0978 over the North Branch of Robinson Run.  SR 0978 and SR 3063 combine to form a
superelevated curve, with an intersection at the apex of the curve where the two state
routes separate.  The construction improved the T-intersection by realigning the bridge
location along SR 0978.
Rails to Trails
A Rails to Trails was designed in Brady’s Run Park in Beaver County implementing design
requirements for signage and ADA access.
Seipel Avenue Bridge
WEI designed the new Seipel Avenue Bridge over the Connoquennessing Creek.  The
221 ft. single span structure utilized weathering steel and provided a pedestrian sidewalk.
Moraine State Park Bridge
WEI designed the rehabilitation of the 19 span structure over Lake Arthur in Moraine
State Park under an open-end agreement with District 10-0.  The bridge was awarded
the 1996 OUTSTANDING REHABILITATED BRIDGE PROJECT by the Association for Bridge
Construction and Design.
Racetrack Road
The Racetrack Road project involved 3 box culverts of lengths of 50.1 m, 56.94 m and
28.86 m.  The roadway project was realigning the roads and the creek and the
improvement of an intersection by the addition of turning lanes.
